Burning holes in bamboo, 18/06/2007

How we made the holes in the bamboo stool legs.

To burn holes in bamboo we used a glowing piece of metal. Pushing this on the bamboo will create a nice smooth round hole. Something that is impossible with a drill.

To make the metal stick glow we used a heater, existing of some metal and charcoal. The shape of the metal will ensure the suction of oxygen.
